Seedr Benefits

This is a short article on how Seedr, an amazing cloud torrent site helped me.
At first when I came to know about torrents, they were like a freedom from things like Online watching of movies and other things.
Then torrents became an integral part of my life be it for downloading movies, big ass MLE videos or ebooks.
In the beginning I used bit torrent to download movies which is decent but not that great in terms of speed.
The world of torrents is many times complicated and not very friendly, Then I came to know about seedr.cc a revolutionary cloud Torrenting Site.
Seedr is a next-generation product aiming to bring the torrent experience to a whole new level.
Basically,Seedr is a service that makes torrents near-instantly accessible on the cloud for you to play, download or just collect content you want for you.
Also it gives a platform for streaming the files online too.
It’s simply Amazing.
Probably it’s the best thing happened to me about torrents.Seedr made torrents an absolute pleasure and my life’s a lot easy now and faster and more importantly secure and anonymous.
Also it’s very fast compared to other sites and it helps you fetch and stream torrents on your mobile device too.
Seedr has all it’s connections encrypted using 256bit SSL, preventing anyone from snooping on your traffic or taking a look at what you download. The website is scanned daily for viruses and kept clean.

Out Bound Training Program

Out Bound Training Program

we went to Outbounding training to Trincomalee Navy camp On the 9th and 10th  with the guidance of 3 lecturers including our Sarasi madam .

Day 1:
We started our journey at early morning 3.30 am in our university. We had two buses for our journey. We get some enjoyable time with our friends. When we reached Kandalai tank and stopped our bus then we took batch  photos.

Then we again continue our travel and nearly at 10.30 am we reached the Navy Camp. Then, the guidance for this session(Navy army) gave boarding house to us for stay those 2 days. Then they gave time to get ready. Then we got ready and took our lunch there. After that our training activities were started. Before start activities,we were separated into four groups.I was in the third group "CHARLIE".Then we were asked to select 8 persons from each group.

ACTIVITY 1:
Pass the bamboo square
We were asked to select 8 members from each group and  go into the square without touching and if any part of our body touched the square then we were out and once again start  from the first. This is the first activity and we did it with much more interestingly and happily. Then an officer told us the plus and the minus of our group and he especially mentioned that our team wasn't had a unique leader and every body take the leadership and that was the big mistake we did and very quickly we understand our mistake and appointed a leader for the next activity.

ACTIVITY 2:
Pipeline
We had to select 8 to play and one to give instructions for this activity. They gave small PVC plastic and the leader(Dilusha) stay front and wants to put the marble into the first person's PVC when the marble touch the PVC only the next person wants to touch his PVC with the other one's. like wise the group wants to pass the marble to the boundary line. We did it nicely and finished game within 5 minutes

ACTIVITY 3:
Fill up cylindrical pipe by water
This was also wonderful activity we enjoyed a lot.We were given a  cylindrical pipe with hollows around it and non covered in the bottom. We had to fill the pipe quickly by using our hands and our mouth. So to make the bottom covered ,we made Chirantha to lay down and kept the tube above him. Then we ran to the beach and collected water and filled it.We filled the tube in just two minutes.
ACTIVITY 4:
Block Train
They gave us bricks and each of every one wants to keep the brick in their stomach and  the person who in front wants to keep that brick without falling down by pushing it with his back and also  every one should  keep their hands on the back side of the head. Then the group asked to move to the boundary line which was kept by the officers without letting  down any bricks if any brick fall down then the team should  start from the beginning. We do this activity successfully.

ACTIVITY 5:
Different volleyball game
This activity is like a volleyball but we can't use our hands. So what happened was every group formed their group into three parts with 6 member for each and one of the person wants to stay the other side to catch the ball. the other five wants to stay the other side and four of them wants to hold a cloth like a rubber sheet and the other one wants to keep the volley ball onto the rubber sheet and lead the team and the team wanted to throw the ball using that cloth to the other side and the person who stand on the other side wanted to catch the ball. if it happened correctly then the team will get 1 points. Every group got 15 chances to try it and we team Charlie got 2 points.

ACTIVITY 6:
Tug of war
Next activity time for a serious game and now we wanted to take participate in tough of war. So its nothing to say the rules that every one know it and we first tried very very hard. But unfortunately, we lost the first match. Then every one were tired a lot.

Finally we finished all the tough activities of the day and we all returned to our rest rooms and got ready for the dinner party with a formal dress and nearly at 6:00 pm we backed to the same place where we spend the day and this time it decorated with lights and then we all it means every group did two programs and we did a small drama and a group song and also we had a fire camp also there and everyone enjoy in DJ.

Day 2:

Then we got ready and took our breakfast at about 7.30 which was arranged by the navy officers.
After that we were again divided into groups for the adventurous activity.

ACTIVITY 7:
Compass march
We had a map and a compass and we asked to reached the elephant point by using the map and the compass and its 2.5 km distance.so first the officers taught us how to use the compass and they came for support us.Then we started to  move toward our destination with our team. When we was walking suddenly we saw a man who was severely injured ( acting as injured ) and then four members of our team went to save him. Rest of us said to them to make any signal after reach. But,they not make any signal and we don't go to saw them. Then the officer who acted was got up and pointed our mistakes which we did and then we continued our journey walking through the little forest. We had to be careful and watch our moves and also we had to hold ourselves with our team to avoid missing the path. And finally we reached the destination and had a good time there  and relaxed for a while.

finally we nearly at 3:30 pm we took bus to university and danced for songs in bus  then at 10:30 pm we reached our university with some unique memories and experiences

Officers , Soldiers in the naval base helped  us a lot. They all treated us in a good manner. We enjoyed a lot. They dedicated their time and effort for us even in a  busy schedule. We were very happy to join with them to celebrate their 67th anniversary.

We gain lots of things, we were able to learn good things. We improved lots of qualities. We were very thankful for them and the miss Sarasi for organizing such a marvelous event.

Table Ethics session

Table Ethics session

December 21, 2017
As an undergraduate of Software Engineering degree program, in near future we have to spend a professional life.So we will be able to participate into conferences, clients meetings, top board meetings, professional parties and etc.  So we have to learn on how to sit for a dinner/ lunch, how to behave in a table, how to wear professional dress code for office and parties. In some times it is a puzzle to select suitable dress code for a party.

For this session madam made lot of plans  but finally  we plan to go Srilanka Institute Of Tourism and Hotel Management School  because of the time & money issues. we divide our batch as two teams & i was in the second team our team plan to go on 15th of November.

First we had a session about Dressing & behavioral approaches. He told us how to wish someone in different situations, space between two persons when they talk & speaking manners in group. The next part he talked about life morals and values negative thoughts, don't care attitude always bad for our life, when we post something in social medias we should remind that the this world watching us.

NAPKIN ETIQUETTE

At informal meals, place the napkin in your lap immediately upon seating. During formal occasions, before unfolding the napkin, wait for the hostess to remove her napkin from the table and unfold it in her lap.
  1. Place the napkin in your lap upon seating.
  2. When leaving the table temporarily, put the napkin on your chair.
  3. At the meal's end, fold your napkin and place it to the left of your place setting.

HANDLING UTENSILS
The continental style prevails at all meals, formal and informal, because it is a natural, non-disruptive way to eat.

THE TABLE SETTING

Deciding which knife, fork, or spoon to use is made easier by the outside-in rule – use utensils on the outside first and working your way inward. So, if you are served a salad first, use the fork set to the far left of your plate.

Your water glass is the one above the knife in your place setting and your bread plate is to the left. To remember which bread plate belongs to you and if the glass in front of you belongs to you or your neighbor, use “b” and “d”. Touch the index finger on your right hand to your right thumb. Touch the index finger on your left hand to your left thumb. The “b” formed by your left hand is for “bread”(your bread plate is always at the left of your place setting). The “d” formed by your right hand is for “drink”(your drinking glasses are always at the right of your place setting).

Our table setting section discusses in greater detail what you'll see at the table.

BREAD PASSING ETIQUETTE
  1. If the loaf is not cut, cut a few pieces, offer them to the person to your left, and then pass the basket to your right.
  2. Do not touch the loaf with your fingers, instead use the clothe in the bread basket as a buffer to steady the bread as you slice it.
  3. Place the bread and butter on your butter plate - yours is on your left - then break off a bite sized piece of bread, put a little butter on it, and eat it.

SALT AND PEPPER ETIQUETTE
Always pass the salt and pepper together.

SEATING ETIQUETTE

In a restaurant, the guest of honor should sit in the best seat at the table. Usually that is one with the back of the chair to the wall. Once the guest of honor's seat is determined, the host should sit to her left. Other people are then offered seats around the table.

FOOD SERVICE ETIQUETTE

During service of a formal dinner, the food is brought to each diner at the table; the server presents the platter or bowl on the diner's left. At a more casual meal, either the host dishes the food onto guests' plates for them to pass around the table or the diners help themselves to the food and pass it to others as necessary.

MEALS END

At a formal affair, plates are removed by a professional staff. But as most informal meals are served without help, the hostess clears the plates, often with the help of a guest or two. At a family meal, members clear their own plates.

CLEARING THE PLATES
  • If the meal is formal, plates will be removed by the staff.
  • At informal meals, the hostess will probably clear the plates, possibly with one or two guests helping.
  • At a family meal, members clear their own plates.

Leaving the dining room. To signal dinner is concluded, the hostess catches the eye of the host, lays her napkin on the table, and suggests that everyone go into another room for coffee and after-dinner drinks. The hostess rises from her chair.

New Software Engineering Trends

                                                                                                              December 23, 2017

New Software Engineering Trends

Software development along with web and mobile development is one of the industries that fuels its own progress. The ever-improving technologies, new frameworks, more advanced hardware, and all sorts of acceleration tools lead to better products which ultimately lead to better production.

Constant self-improvement, optimization, immense creative talent pool, and the passion side the tech industry, make an enormous tidal wave that you can’t afford to pass on, but need to ride in order to stay relevant. Some trends emerge and become a staple. Some are just fun for a while but disappear unnoted. And some you just can’t believe noone has figured out yet

                 Cloud Computing

Scaling resources to gain efficiency has led to the first wave of cloud service boom with original Amazon’s Web Services. Now many believe we are entering something like a second wave and as business software and web is moving towards big data management, the more diverse and cloud data centers come into play.

Cloud represents the maturation of the IT industry.

― Mark V. Hurd

Trends to keep an eye on:

  • Smaller and regional providers
  • On-premise solutions.
  • Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).
  • Cloud containers.

            Artificial Intelligence

The shift towards AI expectations in future projections happened quite some time ago, but as of now, it seems that   AI is finally getting there. Anticipatory design, chatbots, and immersive UX rise that we witnessed last year have all               the chances to take it further this year.
By 2029, computers will have emotional intelligence and be convincing as people.
         ― Ray Kurzweil

Trends to keep an eye on:

  • Reinforcement learning.
  • AI data synthesis.
  • Skynet\U0001f632.

Mobility

For the past decade, the world has been increasingly dominated by mobile devices, and we have submerged ourselves with the functionality and convenience brought by the app-based experience, that our desire for similar fluent experience translates to browser expectations as well.
Your mobile device has quickly become the easiest portal into your digital self.

                                                                              ― Phil Nickinson

Trends to keep an eye on:

  • Companion Apps
  • Bring-Your-Own-Devices (BYOD)
  • Customer Experience.
  • Wearables.
Mobile development trends are on the crossroads of technology, imagination, business vision, and fashion. Either of these segments might hog the blanket to themselves and define the general mobility trend for the coming months.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Considering the rise of customer satisfaction and customer experience (CX) trends, it makes total sense that companies will be looking for new ways to improve their business opportunities, boost sales, increase loyalty, and reliability of their products and services. There is no better way to do it rather than implement internet technology to where there was none at all.
Internet of Things is a movement towards connecting things to the internet that normally would not be present online. Things like your fridge or a toaster, a car engine, or even parts of your house can send and receive data.

Trends to keep an eye on:

  • Blockchain
  • Connectivity
  • Watson API Explorer
  • Platforms

Web Development Predictions

With all major businesses, service providers, and influencers having strong online presence, it becomes the matter of perception of their presence and the quality of content they generate. The web development and design talent demand is high like never before and with the growth of technologies, we can expect the bar raised in 2016 to be taken higher this year.
Before software can be reusable it first has to be usable.
                                                                          – Ralph Johnson

Trends to keep an eye on:

  • Angular 2
  • Rails 5
  • ECMAScript 2017
  • TypeScript 2.2

   Open Source

Once introduced to the public, the open source technology became an integral part of every developer’s toolkit. The strong network of knowledge builds a powerful community that collectively benefits from the strengths of its individuals.
Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.
                                                                                                  ― Bill Nye
he idea of a beneficial open source collaboration led to more and more companies and solutions providing their APIs to empower developers and startups to integrate the solutions and discover the hidden potential. Open source communities operate by their own laws and knowing what exactly is going on might give you an edge on competition and bring your integration to another level.

Trends to keep an eye on:

  • Application Delivery Controller (ADC)
  • Security
  • Headless content management systems

THE ART OF LIVING

July 29, 2017
The ART OF LIVING

It was the most amazing lecture that i ever heard on ...
R. AjithE Collonne's lecture on art of living  is the most interesting lecture that i ever heard.
It was the very first time that i forgot  to glance on my watch during a lecture
He was such capable in conducting lectures in  very interesting way ...
..... thank you madam for make us visit such a awesome person like him….

THE ART OF LIVING By Ajith Rohana Colonne B.Sc., MBA, M.A.(Econ)
AS he said we live in this word because of three reasons.
1)Happiness
2)Entertainment
3)Enjoyment

According to him When we Think about art of living - there is an art to everything and living well is no exception. Of any art, this would be the one to master since it encompasses all the others.  The art of living well is to make your life an expression of who you are , what you believe, and your hopes, dreams and desires. Of course, to create your life as a work of art is an ongoing, evolving, and creative endeavor. And so it should be.
The difference between living well and just living would be analogous to preparing a meal.
When you're hungry you can just throw something together from whatever is handy without considering the nutritional value, taste, or visual appeal of the dish. You can shove something down that fills your tummy and satisfies your immediate appetite.
Or, you can prepare a pleasing, nutritious, tasty meal that not only satisfies your visual and practical needs, but also makes it a joy to experience. Of course, the second meal requires more thought, planning, imagination and work, in general, but the rewards are exceedingly greater on every level.
So it is with life. You could live it indiscriminately not paying attention to anything in particular, or you can make it a delicious, nutritious treat.

 he said we can   make our life a work of art by;

Make each moment count and live it to the fullest. When you get up in the morning decide to welcome all the challenges and delights each day brings. Be aware that everything you experience contributes to your knowledge, enjoyment and understanding of life. Every activity can have meaning and purpose and by acknowledging and recognizing it, you enrich your participation in it.

Express yourself and create the life you want. You are unique. Express your individuality and share your observations and insights with others. Make your surroundings a comfortable reflection of that individuality and uniqueness. For instance, if you're a collector, a sports fan, or have a particular hobby, decorate your home with artifacts and mementos that express that part of your personality. It makes for good conversation and reveals something about you to others.

Establish an open, accepting and appreciative mindset. Prepare yourself for whatever comes your way. When you do, the possibility of attracting adverse circumstances lessens because of your willingness to confront and face what is. When you maintain an open, accepting attitude life actually goes more smoothly and without incident. It's as if you're daring life to throw you a curve, but because you aren't afraid, it becomes unnecessary and therefore loses its impact.

Be who you are and go after what you want. Be comfortable with yourself and don't be afraid to go after what you want. So many opportunities are missed out of fear of failure (and success too) and an unwillingness to take risks or put yourself on the line. Life is too short to not give your best shot at something. Strive to reach your potential. The worst that can happen is you learn a valuable lesson.

Have a solid personal foundation balanced with relationships with family, friends and the community. We are social beings who need each other for comfort, support and interaction. It's important to cultivate and value all of our relationships and engage in activities that promote good will and make the community, the country and ultimately the world a better place.
You know you are living well when you:

Wake up in the morning and can't wait for the adventure that lies ahead of you.
Are optimistic, cheerful and confident.
Are interested in and want to contribute to others and the world around you.
Focus on the good things in your life and improve on what's not working.
Are aware, appreciative and engaged in life.
Turn obstacles into opportunities.
Seize each moment.
We can make an art of living well by expressing ourselves, by being open and receptive to new experiences, and by living each moment to the fullest. We need only decide to do so.
So finally  we must thank a lot for Dr. Ajith Collonne for  conducting us a such a interesting amazing lecture on " Art of living" by combining his own life experiences

UOK .............

Beauty of UOKUniversity of Kelaniya – My University

About University of Kelaniya

The University of Kelaniya has its origin in the historic Vidyalankara Pirivena, founded in 1875 by Ratmalane Sri Dharmaloka Thera as a centre of learning for Buddhist monks.
With the establishment of modern universities in Sri Lanka in the 1940s and 1950s, the Vidyalankara Pirivena became the Vidyalankara University in 1959, later the Vidyalankara Campus of the University of Ceylon in 1972, and, ultimately, the University of Kelaniya in 1978.
The University of Kelaniya has pioneered a number of new developments in higher education. It was one of the first universities to begin teaching science in Sinhala and the first to restructure the traditional Arts Faculty into three faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Commerce and Management.

It has several departments not generally found in the Sri Lankan University system and some Kelaniya innovations have been adopted subsequently by other universities. These include the Departments of Industrial Management and Microbiology in the Faculty of Science; Departments of Linguistics, Fine Arts, Modern Languages and Hindi in the Faculty of Humanities; and Mass Communication and Library and Information Sciences in the Faculty of Social Sciences

It is like a miracle to enter this wonderful place. After facing a tough series of exams and passing them, I could embrace the sweet smell of my university. Placed in Dalugama, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Opening the doors to the knowledge coming from all around the world as it is situated near by the economic capital, Colombo though not full of the disturbances as situated in the city.

At the first look of the giant name board placed in front of the university premises, a viewer feels the strength and the proud history of the university. And that is a famous landmark for most of travelers passing by.
